I’m not sure if it’s because I have other health problems, but my problem is… when I get anxious or depressed, I completely lose my appetite, forget to drink water, and end up with a kidney infection.
This has been a lifelong problem. My AN feeds on it, because it’s easy to push myself a little further and a little further…

Also I’m tube fed through my intestines and it’s such a chore to go through the process of setting up my tube feed, so I just… don’t.

It just doesn’t seem worth it anymore.

    Sorry if this was depressing.

I'm not tube fed but I practice intuitive eating and as I've slowly lowered my calories, my desire to eat has decreased with it. I'm supposed to hold steady at 1000 calories but lately I've been at around 500 and just eating when I feel hungry. The longer you restrict the more fucked your hunger signals get. Ignoring them or only slightly listening helps... But I get it, its sometimes easier to just not?  Get busy doing other things, ect

I’ve heard of intuitive eating- does it feel pretty natural? What kinds of things do you eat?

If you don’t mind answering ( you don’t have to if it’s too nosy) :)

No problem at all! Intuitive eating, atleast my version of it, is listening to my body and eating when I'm hungry, however much I'm hungry for, whatever I'm hungry for. I have low cal alternatives for everything but I just eat what sounds good. So say I'm craving pizza, I have 2 pizza bagels for like 190. Say I'm craving peanut butter? I put a teaspoon of peanut butter on a rice cake for 90. I just eat what I want to eat within reason. I don't go eat a whole pizza but I have a small lower calorie alternative to it so that I am satisfying a craving. I find the urgency whenever I get a craving is less and less because I have the option to have it.

That makes a ton of sense, and you’re still getting the “right” cals (protein, HEALTHY fats, etc) while limiting your income. I could have done that years ago!

But I also think it takes a pretty organized person to be able to do that without going “over” or whatever. Kudos to you!

Oh trust me, I am NOT organized. I'm a raging ADHDer I just count every day with my ana buddies and we all keep track of eachother. Allowing myself to eat the lower cal options helps me stay within my limits, and I usually only high restrict between 800 and 1000

I've now restricted for enough time that I haven't felt hunger for a while. I enjoy the feeling of seeing others eat and knowing I won't want anything.
