if ur doing low carb or straight up keto, how long did it take for ur appetite to go away?
i don't necessarily want to do full keto, but more like only allow fruits and occasional oats or a slice of bread
i belong to the church of fruit, but i'm willing to cut out anything to get rid of this stubborn appetite

a week. had some headaches at first and mental hunger but it went away after a week and my appetite was low.

Keto lowered my appetite but my appetite never went away until I had been low restricting for a while. I think it was due to getting consistently low calorie intake every day for a while that made my appetite go away.
If you love fruits I wouldn't recommend keto. You can just do a diet that is generally low carb and where you have room in your carb budget for fruit every day.
Anything below 100gr net carbs is considered low carb.

I may be an exception, but when I did keto I paired it up with OMAD (very very bad decision) and that one fat bomb meal really made me nauseous and I wouldn't even want to eat until the next day.

so it's like reduced appetite in the sense that you have the desire to eat, but can at least hold it off or say no without losing control?

same here exactly and less appetite than before
i am low carb and cannot touch bread or else the appetite effect goes away and then i want to eat everything constantly

edit: just seen the 20k steps, obvs that will increase the deficit so you may lose more for a bit longer, definitely for longer than i did but imo when you get closer to a healthier bmi its just not possible unless you literally eat nothing and do a lot of exercise which is completely not maintainable your body will give up before you reach your goal

i'm going to try to not be triggering but i had this lofty goal for awhile. to lose 4-5 pounds per week. my starting weight was 170.
i learned pretty quickly that it was basically impossible. i started in january 2022, but because i was working out so much that first month (OTF/walking 15,000 steps 3x a week) i retained too much water and didn't see a drop. so be aware that when you see an uptick in activity, your weight loss won't be reflected on the scale initially.
i've lost about 31 pounds since then. def not 4 pounds a week. barely 2 pounds a week sometimes. below is what i did to basically get a drop of about 8-10 pounds per month.
1) 300-500 calories per day. if i went over, i exercise purged.
2) workout 3x a week + 15,000 3x a week
3) debilitating mental health - i stopped taking my meds so my anxiety/OCD fuelled me further
i'm sure i have gained some muscle in that time period. the point is, unless you are water fasting or morbidly obese 4 pounds a month is extremely difficult. i recommend looking at 10 pounds a month, especially if you are exercising.
sorry i didn't have better news. maybe there are ppl who have achieved it but i can't see how without binging.

so.
a part of me was entirely too ashamed to log in to my old acct from years ago and wanted to start fresh. long story surmised: covid-19 happened. divorce happened. and my small, iron-tight grasp on my weight began to wane. i went from 110 lb (maintained for several years) to clocking in at 170 in dec 2021.
it was humbling in the worst way. started losing weight january of 2022. below are my stats and gws:
✨height: 5'5"
✨sw: 170
✨cw: 144
✨gw i: 135
✨ gw ii: 125
✨ugw: 115
i've lost 26 pounds. not that pleased with the pace of my weight loss but i know it's my illness talking. i've picked up habits that i am ashamed to admit. habits i thought were buried. that said, it is imperative i lose this weight. part of is due to resentment, another part is due to a new burgeoning relationship and rebuilding after divorce but the deep-seated reason, etched into my veins is control. i want to control something. my weight has always been the most comforting thing to control---while temperamental, weight loss can be calculated. predicted.
speaking of calculations, i've projected that i will be at my ugw by july 13th, 2022.
my current plan has been:
✨roughly 300-500 calories per day
✨3 days of moderate activity. moderate activity can range from an orange theory class (HIIT workout) to 15,000 steps that day.
✨daily weigh-in
i've stopped caring about nutrients tbh. i do eat my multivitamins everyday but my range of calories are too tight to add that extra layer. hopefully the damage isn't too bad. this is sick to say but i just can't do both -- i can restrict or i can be healthy.
anyway, i hope i can look back at this thread and be proud of something.

tbh, it's been a mix of restricting OR exercise purging if i go over. the first month was the hardest.
i basically do OMAD. i have one meal a day, usually around 3 pm and i'm done for the day. i use a small saucer for my 1 meal. if i have days where i drink a coffee/tea that's sweetened (i haven't been able to omit that) then that's all i will have. if i go over 300, i walk off the excess calories immediately.
i also chew gum/drink lots of water. sometimes i brush my teeth to trick my brain and i wear invisalign so that's helped.
def not healthy or remotely sustainable. i'm waiting for everything to crash tbh lol

weighed in @ 143.8. kinda disappointed but i know that's my period slow down. inevitably, my weight loss trickles or completely stops. i should just be grateful i'm not gaining like i used to.
rescheduled my OTF class to tomorrow. either way, i worked out 3x this week so on track for my deficit.
i'm gonna try to post what i plan to eat in the AM and then edit if things change or i go over.
breakfast: hot chocolate - 94 calories, only consumed half of my drink so roughly 45 calories.
lunch: skip
early dinner: boiled egg (80 calories) and sauteed mushrooms (130 calories + butter/seasoning/dressing)
total: 255 calories
i have to stay on track with my invisalign trays. i've been slacking majorly with my refinements---the pain is a great deterrent from eating lol. gonna do some cleaning/errands today. i also have an annoying email from work i've been neglecting so i will tackle that.

today's weigh-in is 142.6. kinda gobsmacked. still PMS-ing but hope that means when my period actually comes/ends that the number will be even lower. very close to the 130s...which was the high-end of my 2020 weight. i can smell victory lol
in terms of eating, it's one of those days where i think i'll prob just eat a small snack. nausea/cramps don't make eating very fun. will prob just drink my calories.
breakfast: hot chocolate (45) + coconut whip cream (10) = 55 calories
lunch: prob gonna have a latte or something. not sure yet
dinner: gonna pretend/graze with mother's day dinner.
i'm off to drop off gifts to my mom, prepare dinner and get some groceries done. in other news, i'm in an LDR and my man expects pics daily from me. routines/expectations in relationships are very comforting but anyway i used to find sending these pics very anxiety-inducing. but as the weights been going down, it's been startling seeing how much my body is changing from january. has this man even noticed? absolutely not lmao

today's weigh-in was 142.8. i'm still PMSing and spotting a bit...not sure what's going on. hopefully my period just comes cause the bloat/cramping/weight gain is irritating.
back to work today. i teach so i try to be very mindful of my disordered ways around the kids. i did get called out by a student today tho. she noted that she hasn't seen me eat the entire school year. i purposely skip lunch and kinda nurse a latte or something the whole day. i was so ashamed and worried. i do not want this little girl to be remotely affected by me. i lied and told her i eat in the staff room to appease her. i hope to god that i do not leave an impression on her. i felt awful.
breakfast: tea latte w/ oat milk (about 240 calories but i drank half so 120 calories) = 120 calories
lunch: skipped
dinner: watermelon (105 calories), 2 pieces of papaya (30 calories) 2 pieces of pineapple (40 calories)= 175 calories
Total: 295 calories

i haven't posted in a while because i'm on my period and that inevitably means my weight goes up 2-5 pounds. it's for my mental health that i do not check the scale. i did peak today and i'm up to 144.4 so basically a 2 pound gain. i've been restricting, working out and the temptation to purge is very high. i do not want to get back into that habit.
in any case, gonna check in monday or tuesday with hopefully a more clear number of weight loss.

weighed in @ 142.8 today. still one more day left with my period but super annoyed about the .2 weight gain. i was supposed to be 139.4 this week.
made some sugar-free, dairy-free desserts yesterday for some guests yesterday. has anyone tried monkfruit sugar? life changing. worked out 3x again this week despite cramping/period pain etc.
hoping my whoosh weight loss happens tomorrow.

today i weighed in @ 142.4. disappointed but have to realize i'm at the tail end of my period. i didn't end up eating a single thing yesterday. feeling morose, fatigued and depressed about my weight.
as for what i ate today:
breakfast: vanilla tea latte (200 calories) but only drank two sips so let's say 50 calories
lunch: nothing
dinner: planning on eating two pieces of basa fish and maybe some hot chocolate. not sure what the calories are

today's weight is 141.6. i'm slowly inching my way out of the 140s. hopefully i'll be 139 by the weekend, fingers crossed.
i'm incredibly ill. had a stuffy head cold since sunday and didn't go into work today. didn't work out this week because of it but hopefully i can try to get my steps in at least once this week.
as for what i ate---tomato soup (131 calories) + slice of toast with cheese (190 calories). gonna have some tea later today. first time completed a meal in a couple of days.

today's weigh-in is 140.2. i'm ecstatic, despite being sick with an awful cold. got tested for covid and was negative. tbh, i'm sure the violent BMs, dehydration, lack of food accounts for most of the weight loss but i'm taking it. nothing is as addictive as seeing the scale go down. it's headier for me than body checks sometimes.
anyway, not sure what i'm eating today. took a break from physical activity this week and will resume once feeling better. took work off the past 3 days and it's helping immensely.
this is so fucked up but i had lots of plans this weekend and was dreading it due to having to eat. now i don't have to worry. this shit really makes you an awful person.
