So, I'm starting a new diet for myself again, and, of course, would love to know how others have done doing the same thing.
Here's the diet:
Only fruit, water, and vegetables. Any fruit (including peanuts). Any vegetable.
No soda, milk, or flavoring of any kind. Just water.
No grains, no wheat, no dairy, no added salt or butter.
No snacking, only eat 3 times a day, and workout at the gym for 45-75 minutes at least 5 days/week.
How did you do eating only fruits, vegetables, and water, while exercising?
---
Yay, and I know it's pretty much vegan, but I'm not planning on doing this long term, just as a diet, not a lifestyle. Also, I'm not sure of everything a vegan diet can consist of, and I'm literally limiting myself to fruits, veggies, peanuts and water. Nothing else.
Yes! I know I will lose weight (that's the idea, hehe) I was just wondering how much weight y'all lost on something similar.

Peanuts are not fruit? They're legumes?

I've done it a few times during the summer holidays for a "cleanse" and I always lost weight while doing this. Plus I always feel better with fruits and veggies : better skin, better digestion...
And surprisingly a better mood ![]()

You can survive off this for a long time so long as you eat plenty of legumes (chickpeas, soy beans, butter beans) and a few nuts here and there (almonds e.g., but they are calorie-dense). Most people would be very healthy on a diet of fruit, nuts, veg, and beans - this is the bulk of what I eat (although I go through some weeks where I don't eat that great).

I've done it short term, mostly because my stomach was seriously fucked up, I felt like garbage and absolutely nothing was helping. So I ate nothing but veggies and high fiber fruit stayed under my calorie limit(variable but 500 most days with 2 days of 1200-2000) but I ate every couple of hours. I remember actually feeling really good. I wasn't hungry at all. You can eat a crapton of veggies for very low calorie. After the first few days of "keto flu" I literally had the same energy as when I wasn't restricting at all. And as a bonus my stomach got to feeling better pretty quickly. I think I added in low calorie whey protein shakes after about 3 weeks? Anyway I lost pretty quickly and I actually felt pretty good.
idk if i would call that keto flu though...? since fruits and veggies have more carbs...but maybe you were in ketosis simply from not eating a lot at all. I'm no expert.

Lol I'm not sure if it's the keto flu either...I just don't know what else to call it. It's really like hard core sugar detox. Only lasted about 3 days. It's been a while but I was under 100 grams of carbs a day for sure, maybe even under 50? Anyway I was eating like shit right before so that might have something to do with it to. I guess a "refined sugar detox flu"-lol doesn't sound as good...

I usually eat like this during summer, when fruits and berries are in season and much cheaper. The problem here is it's winter, so pay mind to what you're buying, so you don't end up broke.
I find it very sustainable, as long as I eat enough. I love smoothies in mornings, and making soups for dinner! Also just snacking on fruits and berries throughout the day. If you're feeling unsatisfied or hungry, I REALLY recommend potatoes! Big bowl of oil-free baked potatoe wedges make me the happiest person ever.

I get triggered by many different things and sometimes I don't even know why. So please just stop making those comments. Just because you do not get triggered, or get triggered by other things, doesn't mean that someone is not allowed to put a TW in the header/post...

Anyways, hope it works out for you. I would add some sort of grain once a day like rice or oatmeal but that's just because I prefer cooked foods to salad. Potatos are a great substitute for those though. A hot meal of potatoes and veggies is amazing and one I often make throughout the week. Also lots of great plant based/vegan soups out there.

Why I'm a Vegan:

Fact: Dairy cows are raped by human workers to get impregnated, only to have their babies taken away shortly after birth (cows have a strong bond with their offspring, so they cry out for days), so humans can drink the lactation. They are raped and impregnated over the course of their entire lives, until they collapse from exhaustion... then they are sent to a slaughterhouse to be killed and sold for meat. Video.
Why milk is bad for you in 90 seconds Video.

Fact: Male chicks born on egg farms are immediately killed because they can't produce eggs and are, therefore, useless. Chickens and other birds (like turkeys) are not protected by an humane slaughter law and therefore can be mistreated in any way, without consequence. Female's beaks are cut off when they are young so they won't peck at each other, or break their eggs (chickens tend to eat their eggs when their bodies are exhausted and depleted in attempt to get some nutrients back). Eggs are a chicken's period. They are not for you to eat. They raise cholesterol in humans more than any other food (Which btw only happens when we eat animal products). Leave them alone.

It's not hard if you're allowed starchy veggies such as potatoes, taro, etc.
I am not a fan of white potatoes (not for ED reasons, just find them boring) but I love breadfruit, taro, and sweet potatoes.
For example, dinner tonight was cubes of butternut squash and purple yams and green beans, all baked in a pan till steaming hot, with salt and pepper.
I wouldn't cut out salt--electrolytes are important.
And there are so many wonderful fruits.
Oh, and green bananas--like really green, barely peelable--make an awesome grain-like staple. Cook them in a stew with tomatoes and bell peppers/hot peppers if you like them. The BEST.

no not at all she is 5'4 and was at around 138 lbs when she started. after 2 weeks she was at about 116. She ate normal on sundays and for the rest of the week she only ate fruit and vegetables. but not raw. so she used oil. and she drank about half a litre of redbull every day

I lost weight on an all-fruit diet and got a sugar high to boot. Not sustainable long-term, however.

Well, this morning my blood sugar dropped and I got sick and dizzy. Threw up and when I tried to get up and walk I had to stop and lean on something. My cousin (whom I live with and knows about my ed) saw me and made me drink this lala yogurt smoothie. Strawberry Banana Cereal flavor. It fucking contains wheat. Great. I was off wheat for 3 days. Whatever, if this keeps me from passing out then I guess it's worth it, but I'm still super anxious about drinking it. 150cal, 4g fat, 2.5g sat fat, 20mg cholesterol, 85mg sodium, 270mg potassium, 24g carb, 3g dietary fiber, 18g sugar (omg) and 5g protein.
Ugh and I couldn't weigh myself before drinking it, he got in the shower.
Update-
I threw up the yogurt. Not all of it, but most of it. Maybe all of it, idk.. it wasn't much.

I definitely will be drinking lots of water. So far I haven't been drinking quite enough, but I've been increasing the amount daily.
But so far I've lost at least 3lbs in 3 days (115 to 112). That was as of yesterday. I have yet to weigh myself today, but I'll update the first post when I do.

Yesterday I went to see my dad and brother, so of course I had to eat dinner. Only problem was I was so hungry I couldn't wait. Intake was under 500 for 4 days and I couldn't wait another hour to eat. I ate a sandwich (there was no fucking fruit???) and then we had Vietnamese cha gios (I ate two with nukman). Then I had an ice cream cone for desert
((((
Weighed in .4lbs higher than yesterday. Hopefully it's just the weight of it because that's all I ate plus a banana for breakfast. Hopefully it'll come right off..
